Before you can start working on your WordPress coming soon page, you will have to install Minimal Coming Soon & Maintenance Mode. The free plugin can be found on the WordPress plugins repository, and there are a few different ways you can install it.
How to Install Minimal Coming Soon & Maintenance Mode
- Go to Plugins -> Add New
- Search for “Minimal Coming Soon & Maintenance Mode”
- Click “Install now” button
- Click Activate button
That’s it! To start using the plugin, please open Settings -> Maintenance Mode where you will get to design your page.
If you can’t add the plugin by directly searching for it, you can download the files from WordPress and upload it to the site or your server manually:
1. Install Minimal Coming Soon & Maintenance Mode by uploading it manually
- Go to the Minimal Coming Soon & Maintenance Mode plugin page
- Download the ZIP file by clicking the blue “Download” button
- Go to Plugins -> Add New
- Click “Upload Plugin” button found on top of the page
- Select the ZIP file you previously downloaded, upload and activate
2. Upload directly to the server
- Go to the Minimal Coming Soon & Maintenance Mode plugin page
- Download the ZIP file by clicking the blue “Download” button
- Connect to your FTP client
- Navigate to wp-content/plugins/ folder
- Upload the maintenance-mode folder you extracted in the temporary location
- Navigate to Plugins -> All Plugins and activate Minimal Coming Soon & Maintenance Mode
